Pan roasted chicken with grilled asapragus, sweet potato and pepper sauce. Lamb curry with sweet potato & fresh mango, served with rice & naan bread. Pan fried king prawns in garlic butter. About Us

Judging by the comments we receive and the repeat business we enjoy, we are succeeding in serving top quality food to our regulars from the Wynyard estate as well as visitors from further afield.

Food critics have been highly complimentary of our friendly staff, great service, how extensive and varied our menu is and most importantly of all about the the quality of our food. For example the Sunday Sun’s hard-to-please Eddy Eats gave us top marks and a glowing reference for our Sunday lunches.

A Unique Dining Experience

Here at The Stables we are passionate about food, ensuring our customers enjoy their dining experience. We are open every lunchtime serving food from 12 until 2:30pm, Monday to Saturday, then in the evenings from 5:30pm to 9pm. On Sunday lunch is served until 5pm.

Our History

When I first came to The Stables my ambition was to bring together a relaxed, informal, friendly atmosphere and top quality food representing great value for money.

Almost nine years on and that’s exactly what we have achieved, creating a menu which appeals to everyone with influences from across the world. Quality and attention to detail are very important ~ many of our customers are regulars who live in Wynyard, although we welcome an increasing number of diners from further afield.

Our Philosophy

I strongly believe in sourcing the best food locally ~ ensuring we only use the best ingredients for all our freshly prepared starters, main courses and sweets. Our wide-ranging menu is complemented by a small specials board ~ often our diners have found them so special we end up incorporating them into our menu and, of course, Sunday wouldn't be Sunday without an additional choice of traditional roasts.
